A note from Payton
I teach the person—not a generic lesson plan.
I'm Payton Brown, owner and teacher at Guitar School of Texas. The guitar has been part of my life for more than 50 years, and I still love the moment when something finally clicks for a student—the first clean chord, the first favorite song, or the first time improvising feels natural.
I work with beginners, experienced players, kids, teens, and adults. Some students dream of a stage. Others want to play around a campfire, accompany their singing, write music, or simply enjoy an hour that belongs to them. Those are all worthy goals, and I shape each lesson around the one that matters to you.

Lessons take place by appointment in a dedicated private music studio behind Payton's residence in north San Antonio.
It is a warm, informal room filled with guitars, amplifiers, a piano, recording equipment, natural light, and comfortable seating—the kind of place where students can settle in, ask questions, and play without feeling watched or hurried.
